For patients who are paying with insurance:

I use Headway to manage my billing and admin work so I can place all of my focus on our work together. Headway manages everything related to payments and insurance to make things as easy as possible for you.

The Headway team will reach out via email to help you set up your account and add your insurance and payment details. You’ll see your cost/session ahead of time and can check your benefits any time here.

  • Some folks prefer to pay out of pocket, and leave their insurance company out of it. There are some benefits to doing that- insurance companies require that I send them details of your treatment, and can limit the scope of the work we can do together, as well as the length of time we can work together.

Alternatively, I am happy to provide you with a superbill that you can send to your insurance company. If you have out of network therapy benefits, your insurance company will reimburse you for a portion of the session, after you have met any annual coinsurance or deductibles.

There are a few companies that can help you submit documentation to your insurance company for reimbursement, including:

  • Please notify me of cancellations before 24 hours of your appointment time. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment will be a charged a $5o fee. Missed appointments will be charged a full session fee.

Three appointments that are missed or cancelled late may result in dismissal from the practice.

  • Right now my practice is hybrid between telehealth and walk and talk therapy sessions. (Walk and talk therapy is not appropriate for every client, issue, or weather event)! At this time I am only taking on patients who are comfortable with a majority of visits via telehealth. Please check out my resources page for help finding alternative therapists.

  • Notice to clients and prospective clients:

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
