About Me

Hi, I’m Becca.

I help people find compassion for themselves, and a plan to move forward.

I work with people who are managing anxiety and depression, as well as life transitions. I also work with individuals who are navigating chronic or major illnesses, and who are grieving a loss. The best and most sustainable growth happens when we can be loving towards ourselves. We will work together to identify your strengths and use them towards your goals.

If you feel like you are walking this road alone, and trying so hard to keep it all together- you don’t have to. Let’s figure out a path together.

My Story

We all come to this work for different reasons. For me, it was a health condition as a teenager. I needed two major surgeries in my junior year of high school. Prior to those surgeries I had struggled with anxiety and self esteem for a long time. I took for granted what my body could do for me, until all of a sudden it couldn’t. I learned to live with a whole new baseline, and some ongoing symptoms from my illness. I had to get to know my body, and treat it well. I had to learn how to have a sleep schedule, eat right, and de-escalate myself when I was stressed.

As far as surgeries go, mine was pretty “run of the mill.” When I was in the hospital I got to know so many kids who were so much more sick than I was. They were not going to get a second chance like I was. At that time, I made it my goal to help kids and their families as they navigate major medical illnesses. In addition to my therapy practice, I continue to work with children at a large pediatrician’s practice. There I provide support to children who have medical illnesses and struggles with mental health.

As I have made my way through my career I have found that my clinical gifts lie in helping people who are really struggling to “keep it all together.” I can help them to de-escalate from the panic/anxiety/crisis, and to forge a path forward. People now come to me from all walks of life, not just medical crisis.

I have been in this field now for over a decade. I have grown so much from every patient I have worked with. The experiences that brought me to the field are important, and a part of my essential mold, however the experiences that I have with patients are what continue to mold me every day.

In this work I have been invited into the worst days of peoples lives. It is an indescribable feeling to sit with someone during a moment of their profound pain, and to hold a space for them. My number one goal is to provide a caring and kind environment for people to heal in.

The boring stuff.

I have been working in clinical settings for more than a decade. I have had the opportunity to work at top ten teaching hospitals in Boston and New York, and have held a variety of positions over the years. I have worked overnights in Manhattan emergency rooms, on pediatric palliative care teams, and on inpatient hospital units. During the years following graduate school, I completed a post-grad fellowship in palliative care. For the past several years I have worked at a pediatrician’s office, with patients who are experiencing mental health crises.
